The latest shipment of material arrived in the country divided into three flights, the last one this Thursday. A further 18 tonnes of equipment was received. In these 18 tonnes, from China, are 204 more fans, 283 intensive care beds and more than 100 rapid test boxes.
Leonardo Inocêncio, Secretary of State for Hospital Health, who was present at the 4 de Fevereiro Airport to witness the reception of the material, explained that the inter-ministerial committee has been increasing the volume of material "due to the need to adapt the evolution of the disease". "There was the precision of complementing some kits of personal protection equipment, which above all, lacked greens and, in this sense, we have already made some flights to reinforce these means, parallel to the quantities donated and that follow more shipments", he said, quoted by Angop.
In the last five days, in three flights, 50 tons of material arrived in the country, which in addition to the rest that were already in the territory resulted in a total of 405 tons. It should be noted that, in total, Angola received more than 600 fans, invasive and non-invasive, four laboratories and more than one million kits of biosafety suits.
In addition, according to Angop, of a total of five thousand beds expected to arrive in Angola, 4174 are already available. RTPCR type tests, rapid tests, swabs, masks, gloves, bed sheets, disposable gowns, among other materials, can also already be used by Angolan health professionals.
So far, TAAG has made 18 flights to China to pick up material. Each flight brings an average of about 20 tons of merchandise.
