According to a government statement obtained by VerAngola, the rent is uniform in the four central areas and applies to contracts signed after the decree's publication, subject to updates in accordance with the Tenancy Law.
The measure is part of the Executive's housing policy and establishes the terms of urban rent for housing built with public funds and provided under a rent-controlled system.
The Joint Executive Decree also determines that all revenue from rent payments be channeled to the Single Treasury Account (CUT) through the Single Reference for Payment to the State (RUPE), to reinforce financial discipline in the process.
Like the decree regulating housing sales, this Joint Executive Decree on the rental system also emphasizes that housing is a constitutional right of citizens, and the State must guarantee affordable and dignified solutions.
The document repeals all previous legislation that contradicts the provisions now approved.
