The pilgrimage, which annually brings thousands of pilgrims to the Muxima commune in the municipality of Quiçama, is the largest religious event in the country.
A multi-sectoral committee was appointed to ensure security during the event, composed of members of the Quiçama Municipal Administration, the Archdiocese of Viana (Luanda), and other entities involved in the pilgrimage's preparations.
According to a statement from the National Police, seen by VerAngola, all necessary conditions for the event have already been established, with over a thousand police officers having been deployed.
Officer Cachota also assured that the police will also be closely monitoring road safety. "Police measures on National Highways 230, 101, and 100 (south and north) will be implemented before, during, and after the conclave to ensure the prevention of traffic accidents."
The representative of the defense agencies asked for the collaboration and support of everyone, from residents to pilgrims, and all road users.
