Boeing officials meet with João Lourenço in the USA and discuss strategic partnership

Boeing's president for Global Affairs, Latin America and the Caribbean, Landon Loomis, expressed the American aerospace multinational's interest in establishing a strategic partnership with Angola, aiming to provide support to the country with regards to improving its aviation ecosystem.

Speaking to the press, after having held a meeting, this Monday, in Dallas (United States of America), with the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the official said that Boeing wants to provide support to Angola, particularly with regard to respect to matters related to the maintenance and training of staff.

"We want to be a fundamental partner in this growth", said the person in charge, who, quoted by Jornal de Angola, added that the multinational is also interested in helping Angola diversify its economy.

"We see Angola's great potential in increasing and growing this part of the economy, whose possibility and potential is very great," he added.

According to Angop, at the hearing João Lourenço discussed the vision, as well as the strategy of the Angolan Executive with regard to the diversification of the economy, especially the investments conjectured for the field of aviation, as well as the company recognizing the "great potential" of the country in developing the aforementioned economic sector, with the person responsible highlighting that they want to be a robust partner in supporting the country's strategy in developing the aviation system.

Thus, he said they talked about the possibility of establishing partnerships and investment: "We talked about the possibility of establishing partnerships and investment in areas such as training, maintenance and support for the aviation ecosystem", he pointed out.

On the first day of work in Dallas, where João Lourenço is to participate in the 16th US-Africa business summit, the head of state also held meetings with business entities and entrepreneurs.
