According to João Lourenço, who was speaking during the first state visit to Angola by his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Nahyan, the relationship between the two countries will have a more formal and institutional foundation, starting today, with the 44 legal instruments that will be signed between the two governments during this visit.

João Lourenço highlighted the "longstanding" relationship of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, "based on contacts at various levels" established "with many appreciable results." He emphasized that this visit of "irrefutable historical importance" now reflects "in a much more intense and visible way" the relations of friendship, cooperation, and solidarity that bind the two countries.

The head of state highlighted "the significant presence" of UAE companies in Angola, which, "due to their recognized expertise," have performed outstandingly well in their contribution to the diversification and development of the national economy.

The President of the Republic emphasized that the agreements to be signed will create a more comprehensive framework for exchange between the two countries, at institutional, commercial, political, and cultural levels, more conducive to fostering synergies in the areas of renewable energy, port and airport logistics, mining, agriculture, and agribusiness, representing a total capital injection of approximately 6.5 billion dollars into the economy.

"This perspective is not limited to Angola alone, as your country has emerged as one of the most important foreign investors in Africa, occupying a prominent position as a development partner, with a financial engagement volume exceeding US$100 billion from 2019 to the present," he emphasized.

João Lourenço also stated that Angola intends to intensify its cooperative relationship with the Arab country to attract business investment to the national economy, emphasizing that deepening this partnership aims for mutual gain.

"Resolving the problems stemming from poverty, which still affects significant segments of Angolan society, is at the heart of our concerns," João Lourenço emphasized.

According to the President, "it is always in pursuit of urgent and lasting answers to these issues" that he has "relentlessly" engaged in contacts with Angola's international cooperation partners, to absorb experiences, knowledge, and resources for their application and achievement of positive results.
