In a statement, the company emphasized that train service across its entire rail network has returned to normal.
Early Thursday afternoon, a DMU passenger train departed Bungo Station, bound for Viana Station, the starting point for the return of service.
"As a result of the three-day strike, the accumulated losses amounted to 104,303,180.00 kwanzas, resulting from the suspension of services and the vandalism of two DMU trains," it noted.
Between Monday and Wednesday, Luanda was the scene of riots and looting during the strike called by taxi drivers, resulting in more than 22 deaths and 197 injuries.
Videos of the destruction of stores, vandalism of property, and images of citizens burning posters bearing the portrait of President João Lourenço circulated on social media.
The issue at hand is the rise in fuel prices, as part of the withdrawal of subsidies, leading to an increase in public transport fares, which citizens consider high.
