State budget suspends benefits for politicians in 2021

The preliminary version of the General State Budget (OGE) for 2021 contemplates the suspension of various benefits and subsidies granted to political office holders, magistrates and other beneficiaries.

According to the GSB proposal, delivered on Friday at the National Assembly, "taking into account the pressing need for consolidation and budgetary stabilization, during the year 2021 the residence maintenance and resettlement allowance and the monthly lifetime grant to beneficiaries paid cumulatively are suspended, "unless the beneficiary chooses to receive only the monthly lifetime grant.

The allocation of state vehicles for residence support to political office holders, magistrates and other beneficiaries is also suspended.

The proposal also foresees reductions in other subsidies: installation subsidy of 50 percent for all beneficiaries; stimulus subsidy of 50 percent, to be paid in a single installment; reduction to two the number of domestic employees for holders of political offices, magistrates and other beneficiaries, as well as a reduction in the classes of travel tickets for holders of political offices, magistrates, deputies and their spouses, from the 1st class to the executive class and holders of management and leadership positions, from the executive class to the economic class".

The GSB 2021 has estimated revenues of 14.12 billion kwanza and expenses fixed at an equal amount for the same period.
