According to the official call-up, released by the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) and to which VerAngola had access, the players called up who are developing abroad are German Obama (Juventud Alcalá – Spain); Gerson Gonçalves (A. Maurienne Savoie B. – France); Selton Ricardo Miguel (Maryland Terrapins – United States of America); Luís Pereira (Sporting C. de Braga – Portugal) and Helder Laércio Neto (C.B. Queluz – Portugal).
The list also includes Eduardo Francisco (Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Portugal), Weza Sahikela Panzo (Stetson University – United States of America), Danilson Francisco (Electrico – Portugal), Bruno Fernando (Real Madrid – Spain), Sílvio Sousa (Ironi Kiryat Ata – Israel), Jilson Luís Bango (Feberbahçe – Turkey), Kevin Kokila (JL Bourg-Em-Bresse – France), Macachi Braz (AD Galomar – Portugal) and João Fernandes (U.D Oliveirense – Portugal).
The other players called up are playing for Angolan clubs: Childe Dundão (Petro de Luanda), Eduardo Simão (Petro de Luanda), Adão António (F. Clube Vila Clotilde), Glofate Buiamba (Petro de Luanda), Jonatão Ndjungo (G. D. Interclube), Milton Valente (C. D. 1.º de Agosto), Marcelo João (C. D. 1.º de Agosto), Aboubakar Gakou (Petro de Luanda) and Cléusio Castro (Petro de Luanda).
Angola will host Afrobasket 2025, to be held between 12 and 24 August in Luanda and Namibe.
In this edition, Angola is in group C, which also includes Libya, Guinea and South Sudan.
Angola has already hosted this competition in 1989, 1999 and 2007, and is preparing to host a new edition for the fourth time.
