The president of the Angolan Hotel and Resorts Association (AHRA), Ramiro Barreira, said that the sector is prepared to respond and accommodate the high number of participants at the meeting, reporting that the capital has more than 15,000 beds available for accommodation.

Speaking to Rádio Nacional de Angola, Barreira highlighted the importance of the summit, believing that it will bring good prospects in terms of revenue collection for the sector, which says it has all the conditions created to accommodate the delegations.

"In terms of restaurants, we have many restaurants that can help develop our tourism and here our travel agencies can, in fact, play a very important role, working with all tour operators to take all our visitors to get to know not only our restaurants, but also our culture", said the president of AHRA.

Luanda will host, from June 22 to 25, the 17th edition of the US-Africa Business Summit, the most important business forum between the United States and the African continent.

For Ramiro Barreira, the Luanda summit represents an important moment "to promote Angola as a tourist destination and also as a country where major investments can be made".

"This will be a great opportunity and it will stimulate investment in various sectors that can help the development of our country", he also emphasized.

More than 1500 participants — including Heads of State, Prime Ministers, African Ministers, senior US Government officials and business leaders from both continents — are expected in the Angolan capital, at this event co-organized by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) and the Government of the Republic of Angola.

In addition to the host and President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the heads of state of Botswana, Duma Boko, of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, of Ethiopia, Taye Atske Selassie, of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, and of Zambia, Hakande Hichilema, have already confirmed their presence, as well as prime ministers from several African countries.
