The visit - according to a note from the Municipal Administration of Viana, to which VerAngola had access - aimed to "look at the employability of young people living in Viana and express the support and collaboration of the Municipal Administration with the metal industry".
According to the administrator, during the visit it was possible to see that the manufacturing unit (located in the Viana Industrial Development Pole) employs 850 people, registering a youth employability rate above 80 percent.
The municipal administrator "made it known that it was clear that, with 850 employees, including 120 expatriates, Fabrimetal has an employability rate of over 80 percent of young citizens residing in the municipality of Viana, mainly in Regedoria, Luanda-Sul and Sanzala", the note reads.
Demétrio Sepúlveda was also "satisfied to find technical teams led by local engineers". On the occasion, adds the statement, it also mentioned "the new factory that will emerge on the new production line and which will become one of the largest steel factories in the country and in Africa, and which will open doors so that more young people in the municipality can find a job opportunity".
