According to a statement from the Bié provincial government, that VerAngola had access to, at the opening ceremony, "the ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, accompanied by the host, the provincial governor of Bié, Celeste Elavoco David Adolfo, preceded by the pastoral blessing of the venue."
On the occasion, the Minister of State for Economic Coordination emphasized that Bié stands out for its "agricultural potential, the energy of its youth, and its strategic location in the 'heart of Angola.'"
"Bié stands out for its agricultural potential, the energy of its youth, and its strategic location in the 'heart of Angola,' demonstrating that the real economy pulsates, transforms, and promotes the harmonious development of our country," he stated.
"The logistics and production chain structured along the Lobito Corridor is a strategic initiative to boost investments along this central axis, in which Bié plays a key role. This instrument is complemented by the Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA)," he added, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
In turn, Provincial Governor Celeste Adolfo highlighted the characteristics of this fair: "We are in a privileged space in the city of Cuíto, occupying approximately 26,700 square meters, with more than 435 exhibitors, including producers, traders, entrepreneurs, and service providers, with a privileged space for restaurants and businesspeople, and more than 3000 tons of various products, a vast array of agricultural mechanization equipment, as well as a children's playground, are among the highlights of Expo-Bié 2025."
Under the motto "50 Years of Independence: Produce, Transform, and Develop Angola," the expo will run until Saturday at Solidarity Square.
"With more than 380 local and national exhibitors," the Bié government said in a statement that VerAngola had access to, the event is an "exhibition of locally produced products, resources, and equipment that aims to contribute to the growth of the national economy."
