Inapem: small and medium-sized companies need “more financing options”

The national institute of support for small businesses announced this Thursday that it has 35,818 companies certified in the country, considering that, despite the funding to boost the real economy “is happening, more financing options are needed”.

According to the chairman of the board of directors of the National Institute for Support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Inapem), João Nkosi, within the scope of the restructured Credit Support Project (PAC) around 2,037 companies had support regarding the conformation of credit.

"Of this number of companies, 1705 projects have been approved, 994 projects have already been financed and the rest are under analysis for later approval and funding," he said.

The agriculture sector leads the projects created for the PAC, followed by trade and distribution and fisheries.

For João Nkosi, who was speaking at the presentation ceremony of the financing segment for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) prepared by the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange (Bodiva), within the scope of PAC actions, financing for the dynamization of the real economy " it is happening".

"However, it is necessary to create more financing options for companies, such as this modality that we are witnessing here", he stressed.

As for the method of financing SMEs via Bodiva, the official stressed, Inapem "can categorically state that the country has small and medium-sized companies to benefit from this mechanism, for example some 'start-ups' that have already shown that they are capable" .

Regarding Inapem's actions, its president said that the institution provides various services to facilitate access to the internal market, namely consultancy and technical assistance, formulation of economic activity, access to financing, business capture and promotion, certification and made in Angola.

In the field of consultancy and technical assistance, he highlighted, in 2022 alone, Inapem assisted 2037 companies, formalized the activity of 246 thousand companies and competed for the approval of 1705 projects for access to financing, of which 994 disbursed.

João Nkosi also stressed that the number of companies certified by Inapem "may constitute a necessary basis" so that "the necessary support can be provided to these segments, with regard to financial inclusion and audit services".
