Inflation falls to 19.48 percent as prices continue to slow down

Inflation fell to 19.48 percent in July compared to the same period last year, representing a reduction of 11.61 percentage points compared to the same period in 2024, the smallest drop in the last 12 months, announced the INE.

According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), the Consumer Price Index increased by 19.48 percent in July 2025 compared to the same period in the previous year, representing a 0.25 percentage point decrease compared to June.

Prices in Angola continue the downward trend of the last 12 months, with inflation of 19.48 percent in July 2025, down 11.61 percentage points from the same period in 2024, representing the lowest level since July 2024.

The "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" category contributed the most to the increase in the overall price level, with 12.04 percentage points during the month of July, followed by the "Miscellaneous goods and services" categories with 1.47, "Health" with 1.04, Transportation with 1.01, and the remaining categories with contributions of less than 1.00 percentage points.

The provinces that recorded the smallest price variation were Luanda with 17.27 percent, Huambo with 17.38 percent, and Malanje with 17.53 percent, while the provinces with the largest variation in overall price levels were Cabinda with 29.57 percent, Namibe with 25.21 percent, and Cuanza Norte with 24.47 percent.
