"We plan to recruit around 92 thousand agents throughout the national territory to start the interview process with households, on July 19th", said the director, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

Regarding the progress of the census preparation process, the person responsible pointed out that the focus is currently on completing the stage of updating the cartographic network, pointing out that provinces such as Cabinda, Cuanza Norte, Bengo, among others, have already completed this work.

"Right now, we are focused on completing this stage, which is the second and very important one, which is updating the cartographic network. We have provinces that have already completed the work, namely the province of Cabinda, Cuanza Norte, province of Bengo, province of Cuanza Sul and others that are about to come to an end", he said.

"What we have done in the last few days is to reinforce the teams with those provinces that have already completed the work and, it is along this path, that the province of Cabinda is supporting the province of Uíge, the province of Cuanza Sul is supporting the province of Benguela, the province of Cuando Cubango is supporting the province of Cunene, the entire east has practically the cartographic network already completed, therefore, the work of updating the cartographic network we can satisfactorily say is coming to an end", he added.

Although the amount to be made available by the Government to carry out the census has not been announced, it has been said that they will count on the help of army resources to reach areas that are difficult to access. "There is a willingness here on the part of the Government to support this process and also from the international authorities who are our partners. In areas that are difficult to access, we are counting on the good help of the resources that the army has at its disposal (...)" to "allow us to reach deep Angola", he stated, quoted by RNA.
