FILDA sets dates and will focus on the technology sector

The technology sector will be highlighted at the 36th edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA), which will take place from November 30th to December 4th, in the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE).

The event, which will have as its central theme "technology as a support for the development of agribusiness and industry", will count with the participation of several companies, both national and foreign, with emphasis on companies from countries such as South Africa, Egypt, Germany, Argentina, China, United States of America, France, India, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, among others.

In the presentation of the event, which took place this Thursday, Bruno Albernaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo Eventos Arena, indicated that FILDA is budgeted at around 25 million kwanzas.

Cited by Angop, he said that the event already has 378 guaranteed entries, but that it is estimated that these will grow to 450.

According to Bruno Albernaz, FILDA should generate around 750 temporary jobs, excluding the work of exhibitors, which normally are around 2000 temporary.

Entry to the event, according to the person in charge, will cost 2000 kwanzas per person.

"The participation of entrepreneurs must be made upon payment of 540,000 kwanzas with a stand (plus VAT) and 270,000 kwanzas without a stand (plus VAT)," he said, adding that micro and small businesses as well as startups with a service desk will have to pay a minimum of 160,000 kwanzas.

He added that the sectors of industry (16 percent), services (15 percent) and commerce (12 percent) should dominate the event.

Dalva Ringote, Secretary of State for the Economy, also cited by Angop, indicated that the "number of subscribers represents the will of businessmen to show national production" and that there is "the will and need to have our companies and the opening is extensive to small and large entrepreneurs to be able to present their products".

On the central theme of the event, the secretary admitted that technology has been a crucial tool for companies to function.

She also took the opportunity to mention that the fairs are translated into spaces for companies to show their potential.

Remember that FILDA was scheduled to take place last year, but due to covid-19 it suffered successive postponements. It will now return to Luanda, more specifically to the new Luanda exhibition park, located in the Luanda-Bengo ZEE, on 30 November.
