Police expel commission that wanted to hear rods from the Order of Physicians

A "commission of good offices", which went to the Order of Doctors this Wednesday to hear the staff, ended up being expelled from the scene by the police, advised that a group of doctors wanted to force a meeting with Elisa Gaspar.

:

In a statement to which Lusa had access, the "commission of good offices", part of the management committee of the Order of Physicians, leaving the general assembly on October 17, said it had the task of hearing the staff of the Order of Physicians, Elisa Gaspar, on the issues that led to his dismissal, approved by 4395 registered doctors, plus 222 doctors from the south and east.

The commission also aimed to persuade Elisa Gaspar to "understand the purposes of the motivations of the doctors" and to "abide by the deliberations of the great assembly," which she claims to have support in the statutes of the Order of Physicians.

In this sense, the commission went to the Order on Wednesday morning, having been informed that the staff would not be present, without the reasons having been given.

According to the commission, the delegation asked the secretariat to be given a room to meet, which was not attended, because "the rooms were all occupied.

"We confirmed that there were unoccupied rooms, we stayed in the outside hall of the building waiting for Dr. Elisa Gaspar. At 9:45 a.m. we saw a police apparatus composed of 15 heavily armed elements who entered the Order and positioned themselves close to us," explained the note.

According to the document, one of the elements of the commission explained to the police the reason for their presence on the scene and questioned the reason for the police presence in the building, having been informed that they were called because a group of doctors wanted to force a meeting with the staff and invade the Order.

"I told them that the only ones in the Order with the sole purpose of good offices were us and that none of us had malevolent intentions," the note said, which repudiated the fact that the police prevented them from giving interviews to some media within the grounds of the Order of Doctors.

"Our common home, a deeply reprehensible and unspeakable attitude," the communiqué stressed, informing that "in view of Dr. Elisa Gaspar's position," the commission "ceases its functions as of today.

At stake are disagreements between the staff of the Order of Doctors and some medical professionals, dissatisfied with their management and performance, with accusations of alleged misappropriation of funds and property of the institution, which led to the holding of an extraordinary general meeting, which decided to remove her from office and establish a management committee.

Elisa Gaspar has always denied the accusations and stated that she will remain in office until the end of her term.
