Hydrocarbons, electricity, fisheries and agriculture at the center of PR's visit to Norway

Matters such as hydrocarbons, electricity, fisheries and agriculture will be at the center of João Lourenço's visit to Norway, which will take place next month, to strengthen economic collaboration between both countries.

"The visit's agenda will include matters such as hydrocarbons, other fields, such as construction lines for electricity and also in the field of fisheries and agriculture", informed the Norwegian ambassador to Angola, Bjornar Dahl Hotvedt, who was accredited this Thursday by the head of state at the Presidential Palace.

"Now, we are planning the visits and these matters will be discussed in Norway, next month", added the diplomat, quoted in a government statement, to which VerAngola had access.

The ambassador also referred that the Norwegian government has "strong interest in strengthening ties with Angola, one of the most important partner countries on the African continent in the fields of trade and investment".

Also this Thursday, along with the Norwegian ambassador, João Lourenço also accredited the ambassadors of Korea and Ghana.

It was in separate ceremonies that the head of state received the "credential letters from the ambassadors of the Republic of Korea to Angola, Choi Kwang-Jin, and of the Republic of Ghana, Mavis Esi Kusorcbo, all with resident status".

According to the statement, the Korean ambassador informed that the President of the Republic will participate in the extraordinary summit Korea/Africa, which will take place in 2024.

"I discussed with the President issues to develop and strengthen Angola's economic development, given that the country has had an economic rise in the last five years. Therefore, we also want to contribute to better strengthening the situation of Angola's economy", he said, quoted in the note.

The Ghanaian diplomat took the opportunity to remember João Lourenço's visit to her country last year, stressing that "since then the two countries have worked hard to increase economic relations, further promoting investments between them".
