According to a note from the Press Center of the Presidency of the Republic of Angola (CIPRA), to which VerAngola had access, the ambassador is at the end of his mission after four years working in Angola and went this Thursday to the city of High "to offer farewell greetings to President João Lourenço".

At the end of the audience, the Norwegian diplomat spoke about his experience in the country: "My four years in Angola were good years, good years for Norway, for me and also for my family. And as you already know, the relations between Norway and Angola are strong, particularly in the economic sector", he said.

According to Kikkan Marshall Haugen, Angola is one of his country's most important partners on the African continent in the field of economic relations.

"Our energy company is responsible for approximately 10 percent of oil production in Angola, and the value of economic relations represents between two and four billion US dollars," he said, quoted in the statement.

The diplomat also said that he hopes that economic relations will continue to grow and that the European country will invest more in other sectors of the economy in Angola, "supporting the diversification of the economy, particularly the energy sector".

He also took the opportunity to highlight the "good relations" with Angola in the political and human rights sectors and also the support that Norway has given to "civil society organizations, for scientific research, job creation for young people, among other actions".
