Angolan artists Yola Semedo, Ana Joyce and Nelo de Carvalho are also on the line-up for this edition of Caixa Fado, which promises a “vibrant and diverse celebration with a mix of sounds and a unique embrace of cultures”.
The organization, in a statement released this Wednesday, states that the mix of sounds and embraces of cultures “perfectly reflects the spirit of the festival, as it symbolizes the harmony between different cultures and the different intersections in music as a unifying and aggregating element”.
“The mix of sounds represents the combination of varied styles, while the embrace of cultures highlights the acceptance and celebration of diversity”, he says.
The Caixa Fado Festival “is a true multicultural celebration, where, based on the fado musical style, we can see different musical traditions meet and merge, creating a rich and innovative artistic experience”.
The organization highlights that the invited artists, with Portuguese-speaking and African roots, bring to the stage a fusion of styles ranging from Portuguese fado to contemporary Angolan rhythms, providing a unique show.
João Plácido Pires, president of the executive committee of Caixa Angola, mentioned in the statement, highlighted the importance of the festival as a driver of cultural interaction for artists, expressing confidence that this edition will be “memorable and will bring tangible benefits” to the organization and the public.
“We believe that the mix of sounds and cultural embraces will provide a unique and memorable experience for all participants”, highlighted the manager.
The event is scheduled for October 4th at the Belas Conference Center, in Luanda.
