The launch of the project was carried out by the Cooperativa Agrícola dos Kuduristas em Angola (COAKA), in collaboration with the Municipal Administration of Viana, this Wednesday, at Casa da Juventude, in Viana.
"'Kuduro Patriótico' is a social initiative by COAKA whose objective is to promote the recovery of moral, ethical and civic values in Angolan suburban communities, using kuduro, one of the most popular musical styles in the country. The project aims to disseminate cultural and patriotic", explains the municipal administration of Viana, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
According to the statement, the project aims to "engage youth through cultural activities that reinforce the feeling of citizenship and belonging", and with this, it is expected to "strengthen the social fabric and encourage positive practices in the daily lives of communities".
The partnership between COAKA and the municipal administration reflects a "joint effort" to use "culture and music as tools for social transformation, bringing hope and a new sense of purpose to the local population".
On the occasion, Leopoldino de Almeida, mentor of the project, said that the initiative has a national nature, involving psychologists, jurists, pedagogues and sociologists who will give lectures throughout Angola.
Albino Ngola, president of the Association of Kuduristas of Angola, pointed out the intention of putting an end to less than decent lyrics and video clips, while José Mateus deputy director of the Angolan Youth Institute, praised the project, which aims to promote patriotism, a culture of peace, as well such as conservation of public goods and citizenship, writes Angop.
According to the statement from the Viana administration, the launch event was attended by the municipal director of Tempos Livres Juventude e Desporto, Dialmo André Samba Dende, who "expressed the total availability of the municipal administration to support the initiative of that fringe of society that has already proven to be quite creative".
