According to the government's statement, which VerAngola had access to, the decision is contained in Presidential Order No. 208/25, of August 14, which authorizes the opening of the Simplified Procurement Procedure for the awarding of construction and inspection contracts for the historic fortress, classified as a National Heritage Site.
The investment includes the completion of the study, rehabilitation, and equipping of the fortress, costing 11.8 billion kwanzas.
Concurrently, inspection services for the project are planned, costing 589 million kwanzas.
The initiative is part of the Executive's strategy to preserve, conserve, and promote the national historical and cultural heritage, according to the Executive.
It is worth noting that the Massangano Fortress is part of the Cuanza Corridor route.
