National team, by Pedro Gonçalves, without money for the decisive CAN qualifying game

The Angolan football team, coached by the Portuguese Pedro Gonçalves, has no money to host the Madagascar counterpart, a decisive qualifying game for the African Cup of Nations (CAN2024), the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) assured this Tuesday.

:

The fact was made public by José Carlos Miguel, vice-president of the FAF, who explained that financial support is needed.

"We have an ultra-delicate operation, which is the one that could lead us to qualifying for the CAN in September, we have practically all the issues taken care of, but the problem is more the financial one, because, at the moment, we have a deficit that could compromise that our last journey at home. If there is no financial support, the qualification for CAN could be compromised", he said.

Angola and Madagascar face each other on September 3, in Angolan territory, in the last round of qualifying for CAN2024, which will take place in January, in Ivory Coast.

Ghana leads group E, with nine points, Angola is second, with eight, the Central African Republic dropped to third, with seven, and Madagascar is last, with only two.
