According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism, VerAngola had access to, the delegation has been in Cape Verde since Monday, aiming to deepen cooperation in the tourism sector.
"A technical delegation from the Ministry of Tourism has been on an official three-day mission to the Republic of Cape Verde since Monday, August 4th, with the aim of deepening bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, within the framework of the Joint Action Plan signed between the two countries," the statement reads.
On the first day, the statement said, the delegation, led by Yolanda Dombolo, director of the Office of Studies, Planning and Statistics (GEPE), "was received by the Minister of Tourism and Transport of Cape Verde, José Luís Sá Nogueira, and by teams from the Cape Verde Tourism Institute (ITCV) and the Social Solidarity Fund for Tourism."
"During the meetings, best practices related to sector financing were shared, as well as details on the use of the tourism information management platform, among other methodologies that drive tourism development in the archipelago," the ministry said.
The visit thus follows up on the provisions of the Action Plan, which was signed on June 11, 2024, on Sal Island, "within the scope of the memorandum of understanding signed between Angola and Cape Verde, which aims, among other things, to exchange experiences in five main areas: technical and professional training, improvement of the tourism offering, development of integrated tourism zones, identification of areas of tourist interest, and management of tourism-related social sustainability funds."
