Teté António says that support for the development of the PALOP history will be phased

The head of national diplomacy said this Wednesday, in Luanda, that the contribution that Angola will make to elaborate the History on the Liberation Struggle of African Portuguese speaking countries (PALOP) will be distributed for three years.

:

Téte António, who was speaking on the sidelines of the 4th ordinary plenary session of the Council of Ministers, clarified the doubts and criticisms surrounding the announcement by Angola, Tuesday, of a contribution of 1 million euros, for a project on history the PALOP liberation struggle.

"What remains to be understood is that we have summarized what the meeting was, without necessarily going into details. First, it must be said that the contribution to the preparation of this important document is a responsibility of all Member States, among which Angola, and the part that belongs to the Republic of Angola, it must be said that it will not be done in one go, it will be staggered up to three years ", said Téte António to the press.

The Foreign Minister stressed that this is a responsibility of all Member States, and not just Angola.

"The financing will come from public funds, the contributions of the Member States, just as Angola will do in three years, and a group, a 'task force' for the mobilization of external resources, has also been created", explained the minister, reiterating that "is an effort being made by all Member States".

The information was provided by the Presidency at the end of the PALOP Forum conference, a mechanism created in 2014 for consultation of the community of countries, carried out virtually, with the participation of the head of State, João Lourenço, which marked the end of the rotating presidency of Angola in favor of the Republic of Cape Verde, for a term that will extend until 2023.

The summit addressed topics such as the PALOP History-Making Project on the Liberation Struggle and the admission of Equatorial Guinea as a full member of the PALOP Forum and Timor-Leste as an observer member.

The commission, which works in the initial phase of the History project, budgeted the cost of the work at 1.8 million euros, of which 1 million will be made available by Angola in early May, the statement said.
