An Ocenário and the Museu do Mar will be part of the works of the third phase of the Namibe Fisheries Academy, with start scheduled for this year.
The information was provided to Angop by the coordinator of the APCM Management Committee, Carmen dos Santos, who stressed that the works - already paid for - also include a cafeteria and a clinic. The latter is related to specific training issues, namely in scientific diving, requiring health care for divers.
The institution will launch its first graduates in the labor market in 2021. The Academy awaits a decision from the Ministry of Higher Education to become a higher education institution - being able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
Also according to the official, there is interest from students from Namibia, South Africa and Rwanda undergoing training at this academy.
The main objective of the institution is to train specialists and senior technicians in the field of fisheries and marine sciences. The Academy is divided into three areas of specialization: Fisheries, Fish Processing and Exploration of Aquatic Resources.
