The carnival group, which scored a total of 590 points, decided to address the problems surrounding transport in the country. During the parade, the group paraded to the sound of the song 'Kibandulu ya Jitabulu', created and performed by Tonicha Miranda.
In second place was União Njinga a Mbande, with 576 points, followed by União Recrativo Kilamba, who had won the title last year, and who this year managed to win 559 points.
This is the 14th title won by the Ingombota group - which was founded on November 8, 1968 - being the carnival group with more titles so far. In second place with more titles won is União Fiela, of Sambizanga, with five conquests, followed by União 10 de Dezembro, of Maianga, with four victories.
The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, together with his wife, Ana Dias Lourenço, were also present at the event, where they watched the parade in the VIP gallery. Also the Minister of Culture, Maria da Piedade Jesus, the President of the National Assembly, Fernando Piedade Dias dos Santos, among others, were at the New Marginal of Luanda to watch the parade.
The prizes will be awarded to the top five finishers: 1st place is entitled to three million kwanzas, 2nd place receives two million kwanzas, 3rd place is entitled to one million 200 kwanzas, 4th receives one million kwanzas and 5th place is entitled to 800 thousand kwanzas. The groups between the ninth and the 13th classified will descend from division.
