"I visited this monument a few days ago and we noticed the need for it to be urgently rehabilitated as it has been vandalized, which is why we intend to preserve it," he said.

Quoted by Angop, the provincial governor said that the government is committed to improving the image of the monument, as well as designing better infrastructure conditions, with a view to ensuring greater comfort for visitors.

According to Luís Nunes, this monument has great symbolism for citizens, especially in the year in which Angola marks the 50th anniversary of national independence.

The Cazenga Historical Landmark, as the name suggests, is located in Cazenga, in the capital. The inauguration of this monument, which has two statues representing commanders Paiva Domingos da Silva and Imperial Santana, took place in 2005.

It is worth remembering that, this Tuesday, the country completed 64 years since the Day of the Beginning of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation. The central event of the event took place in the province of Uíge and was presided over by the Minister of State and head of the Military Household of the President of the Republic, Francisco Pereira Furtado.
