Thus, for this year, according to the person responsible, it is expected to reach a level above 40 percent of the capacity to produce wheat flour, corn, cooking oil, margarine, etc.

Quoted by Angop, Décio Catarro assured that 20 percent of the raw material to be used will come from the country's production, adding that they are "managing to make people understand" that in the country it is also possible to produce what exists in others.

"We are managing to make people understand that in Angola it is also possible to produce what we see in other countries", he indicated.

He also clarified that the design of the manufacturing units seven years ago was based on Angola's agricultural potential and added that, last year, corn was the "big imbalance", despite having "also produced soybeans, beans and rice".

Regarding the construction of the factory unit to extract oil, the person responsible explained that it will mainly use soybeans and sunflower grains, to be used in the refinery that is already operating, writes Angop.

In 2023, he added, they worked "with just over 50 thousand families in the countryside, in the provinces of Malanje, Benguela, Huíla, Huambo, Bié and Cuanza Sul", and, at the moment, they are "with around 150 thousand, significantly increasing the quantity of raw materials for the factory".

Regarding peasant complaints about prices, Décio Catarro said that "across the world they are a reflection of the binomial supply and demand", adding that "as long as there is not enough agricultural production to stabilize the market, there will always be some fluctuation".

The person in charge also spoke about the goal of achieving food self-sufficiency by 2030. In this matter, he recalled that there have been difficult times internally with regard to financing for investments, adding: "We are looking for international financial entities, those that also invest in Angola and Africa, as a country and continent of the future".

According to the person in charge, cited by Angop, the complex currently employs 1850 employees, who operate 24 hours a day throughout the month, although the lines are not yet fully occupied.
