Tundavala Stadium passes the test and will host international matches

An inspection by the African Football Confederation (CAF) said that the conditions are in place for the National Stadium of Tundavala, in Lubango, to be able to host international competition matches.

The technical team was present at the sports facilities for two days, having assessed the entire infrastructure.

It should be remembered that both the lawn, as well as the benches, changing rooms, video surveillance and sound systems, the press area, among others, were subject to improvements through restoration work.

In this way, the technical team determined that the conditions are acceptable for the realization of CAF games.

According to Gerson Melo, one of the inspectors, the Estádio da Tundavala has favorable conditions to host any type of national and international game.

Cited by Angop, the official also made a positive assessment of the hotels in the Tundavala region, which he visited, and also of the Lubango Central Hospital, considering that the tourism and health sectors are also able to respond to the needs imposed by competitions. international nature.

Previously, CAF evaluators had already considered the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda to be suitable, and they will now visit the stadiums 22 de Junho (Luanda), Sagrada Esperança (Lunda Norte), Ombaka (Benguela) and Chiazi (Cabinda).

The Tundavala National Stadium has the capacity to host 21,040 fans (sitting), and it last hosted a game in 2015, when the national team beat the Central African Republic in a qualifying for CAN.

The stadium was inaugurated in 2009, taking into account the national organization of CAN 2010.
