Government assigns responsibility to FAF for stadiums disapproved by CAF

The Government, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, said in Luanda that lifting the suspension of the African Football Confederation (CAF) to Angolan stadiums depends on the Angolan Football Federation.

:

The minister of that institution, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, said that, after the game between the Angola and Egypt teams, for the Qatar2022 World Cup, on November 12, in Luanda, the Angolan Football Federation should interact with CAF. in order to allow Angolan clubs to compete in the same stadiums for African competitions.

She also explained that the 11 de Novembro stadiums, in Luanda, Ombaka, in Benguela province, and Tundavala, in Huila province, which were rejected by the governing body of African football, recently received improvement works, even before the decision to ban.

The minister also regretted the fact that she has only now received the CAF interdiction document, dated 29 October.

With this decision, the aforementioned venues are prohibited from hosting international matches, at the level of national teams and clubs, until the infrastructure built from scratch in 2010, at the time of the African Cup of Nations hosted by Angola, in the same year, is improved.
