"We have to work with all classes of professionals and here we will appeal only to common sense. We are in a difficult moment when we are all necessary for the work ahead", said this Monday Silvia Lutucuta, when questioned by Lusa, without going into details.

The minister spoke this Monday to journalists in Luanda, at the end of the ceremony to receive biosafety material and tests of covid-19 donated by the European Union.

For the responsible, the absence of the staff, dismissed in an extraordinary general meeting, is a "delaying maneuver to prevent the interests of the class she claims to defend from prevailing.

On 17 October 2020, Ormed's northern regional council approved the removal of Elisa Gaspar from office, and new elections are to be held in 90 days.

According to the resolution approved at the end of the extraordinary general assembly, in addition to the removal from office it was also decided to create a commission of inquiry to analyze the irregularities and promote an independent audit.

Elisa Gaspar, for more than a year in the position of Ormed's staff, is accused of "misappropriation of funds and harmful management" of the institution, including an alleged embezzlement of 19 million kwanzas, and "other unjustified expenditures.

Doctor Elisa Gaspar denies all charges.

An Ormed management commission, which emanates from the extraordinary general meeting, has been in office since December 3, 2020, following an inauguration ceremony, recognized as "atypical", without the presence of the deposed staff.

Doctor Arlete Nangassole is the coordinator of the management committee of the Angolan Medical Association.

Last October, Elisa Gaspar said she found a debt of 21 million kwanzas in that body, guarantees to remain in office and promised to advance two criminal complaints against the northern regional council, which promoted the extraordinary general assembly, for "slanders.

On two occasions, in November and December, doctors who approved the removal of the staff were prevented by police from accessing Ormed's premises by alleged orders of Elisa Gaspar.
