"Seven months ago, on the initiative of the late Luther Rescova, at the time governor of Luanda, the removal of the famous Prenda crane began, which had enormous media repercussions in the vicinity, because it put at risk the lives of hundreds of people living there," he began by explaining the government of Luanda on his Facebook.
In the publication, the government explains that to remove the crane it was necessary to destroy some dwellings.
"Today [Tuesday] was a day of enormous satisfaction for the ten citizens who received their homes completely rebuilt with better living conditions," the note adds.
The residents were thrilled with the ceremony and did not fail to remember Sérgio Rescova: "We are very happy, we thank the President of the Republic, who at the time guided the failed Sérgio Rescova," said Nelson Bonga, coordinator of the residents commission, in declarations to the TPA.
"The community is so grateful that, in memory of Sergio Rescova, people already call this site 'Vila Rescova'," he added.
The keys were handed to the residents by the President of the Administrative Commission of the City of Luanda, Maria Antónia Nelumba, representing the governor Joana Lina.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Government of Luanda, the Administrative Commission of the City of Luanda, the commission and residents and guests.
