Covid-19: country registers 50 new cases and 213 recoveries in 24 hours

The country registered 50 new cases, one death and 213 recovered in the last 24 hours. The information was released this Monday by the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda.

According to the official, who was speaking in Sumbe as part of a visit by a World Bank delegation to Angola, the cases were registered in the provinces of Zaire (26), Luanda (9), Huambo (9), Benguela (3) , Cabinda (1), Malanje (1) and Huíla (1).

In the last 24 hours, one death has also been registered and 213 people have recovered from the illness. Most of the recoveries took place in Luanda, with 121 recovered, followed by Cuanza Sul (43), Benguela (29) and Huambo (20), writes to Angop.

Over the same period, laboratories processed 3,905 samples, with a daily positivity rate of 1.3 percent.

With the most recent data, the country has a total of 64,724 confirmed cases, of which 2774 are active, 1721 deaths and 60,222 recovered.

Quoted by Angop, Franco Mufinda added that 55 people are interned, 83 are in institutional quarantine and 96 are under medical surveillance.
