More than six million people vaccinated against covid-19

The National Coordinator of the Expanded Vaccination Plan, Alda de Sousa, revealed that until this Thursday, November 4th, a total of 6,988,409 people had been vaccinated against covid-19.

Of the more than six million people vaccinated in the country, 5,091,923 citizens have already been immunized with the first dose, 1,718,786 with the second dose and 177,700 with the single-dose vaccine.

The official, cited by Angop, indicated that most of those vaccinated are male: 58 percent are men and 42 percent are women.

"We can see that men are joining more vaccination posts, taking the opportunity to urge women to do the same," she said.

The country is using five different vaccines: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sputnik, Sinopharm and Johnson & Johnson.

To implement the vaccination plan, the country has 175 posts. The Government intends to vaccinate around 54 percent of the population, which corresponds to 16,823,284 people over 16 years of age.
