Covid-19: Angola with 46 new cases, three deaths and 1420 recoveries in 24 hours

Angola registered 46 new cases of covid-19, three deaths and 1420 recoveries from the disease, in the last 24 hours, informed this Wednesday the country's health authorities.

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, Luanda registered the largest number of cases, aged between 1 and 78 years, with 27 males and 19 females, with 27 notifications.

Regarding the reported deaths, two men and one woman, between 57 and 75 years old, two occurred in Luanda and one in Huambo.

The data point to 1420 recoveries from the disease, of which 1378 in Luanda, 31 in Cuanza Sul, 10 in Benguela and one in Huambo, in people aged 3 to 71 years.

The country has 64,533 positive cases, 1716 deaths, 54,816 recovered from the disease and 8001 active, of which eight are in critical condition, six serious, 91 moderate, 25 mild and 7871 asymptomatic.

There are 70 patients hospitalized, 72 people in institutional quarantine and 2697 contacts under epidemiological surveillance.

The laboratories processed, in the same period, 3061 samples by RT-PCR, with a daily positivity rate of 1.5 percent, pointing the cumulative to 1,122,824 processed samples, with a positivity rate of 5.7 percent.

Covid-19 has caused at least 5,012,784 deaths worldwide, among more than 247.54 million infections by the new coronavirus registered since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the most recent report by the Agence France-Presse.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected at the end of 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in several countries.
