According to a press release by the Luanda Railroad, the arrest was possible after a complaint from residents of the town, which is 20 kilometers from Ndalatando, capital of Kwanza Norte, when the suspects, using appropriate material (blowpipes and gas cylinders), had already cut 100 fractions of three meters each.
The note notes that the detainees were referred to the Cazengo municipal command of the police.
The theft of this type of material and others, the note stresses, has occurred frequently and causes serious technical problems to the normal operation of the Luanda Railroad, as these rails should be used to replace those in use.
Earlier this month, the theft of more than 600 fastening bolts prohibited the circulation of suburban passenger trains in Luanda, on the route between Musseques station and Bungo.
The railroad line of the Luanda railroad, more than 400 kilometers long, includes a route through the province of Kwanza Norte to Malanje.
