Authorities block eight gold bars from leaving the country

A Chinese citizen was detained while trying to board a flight at Luanda's international airport with eight gold bars weighing a total of 4.222 kilograms, the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) announced on Monday.

According to the press release, the passenger, on a flight bound for Dubai, was arrested in the cash declaration area.

The SIC (Inspector General of the Securities and Exchange Commission) states that the 41-year-old citizen is guilty of trafficking strategic minerals.
