Organizations mark "Dipanda" month with screening of documentaries on National Independence

"This is Our Memory", an initiative of the Tchiweka Documentation Association and Generation 80 in partnership with TPA, SESC Digital and the platform Mostra de Cinemas Africanos, is composed of five documentaries that aim to celebrate the month of National Independence.

:

A statement, quoted by O País, explains that the films were made as part of the project "Angola - Nos Trilhos da Independência". With about 900 hours of audiovisual material collected in Angolan and international lands and 700 testimonies of figures from the anti-colonial struggle, the five documentaries were born.

The screening of the first documentary, called "Angola - Nos Trilhos da Independência", will be on screen this Friday, November 6, starting at 7pm. The documentaries "Women in Arms" and "Independence" will be screened on November 11th at 1pm and 6pm, respectively.

On November 13, the feature film "São Nicolau - Eles Não Esqueceram" (Saint Nicholas - They Didn't Forget) will be screened from 4pm, and the documentary "A Persistent Fragility of Memory" will be screened on November 20, at 6pm.

All the documentaries will be screened at TPA. However, the history of our country's independence will also reach the other Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP), through the website www.sescsp.org.br/cineafrica.

In Brazil, the films will be available on the above site, free of charge, between November 11th and December 2nd. "We inform that on November 30th the five documentaries will be permanently available online with free access for the whole world on Youtube channel of Tchiweka Documentation Association", completes the documentary.
