The spokesperson, who is also the deputy director of the National Statistics Institute (INE), said that field agents are fulfilling their role, both in urban and rural areas, with emphasis on the interviews that have contributed to the beginning of preparing the statistical file, and thanked the families who have collaborated in providing information.
However, the person responsible stated – in statements to the press, cited by Angop, after a commission meeting – that there are people who still show distrust in providing information, which ends up making data collection difficult.
In this sense, the spokesperson appealed to people to welcome the census takers cordially and without hesitation, as the data is confidential and makes it possible to reach a real result in the population count, as well as total coverage across the country.
This was the second meeting of the commission since the census began, on September 19, and was guided by Francisco Furtado, Minister of State and head of the Military House of the President of the Republic.
According to Angop, the meeting also had the purpose of evaluating the issue of the rainy season during this process.
It is worth remembering that the country started 'counting' on the 19th of September, in a process that will last until the 19th of this month, under the motto "Together we count for Angola".
