The launch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., and the census itself will begin at midnight, with the registration of so-called "special cases", which include the homeless. Several families will be contacted a few hours later to collect information and fill out the census questionnaire.
It should be noted that, in this edition, the statistical operation will involve collecting data digitally, using a mobile device (tablet).
The spokesperson for the General Population and Housing Census, Hernâni Luís, guaranteed that air resources will be mobilized to reach the most remote areas of the country.
Angola once again counts on the slogan "Together we count for Angola". The survey will last 30 days and will involve more than 79,000 field agents, divided between 67,000 census takers and 12,000 supervisors, who will ensure the work throughout the country.
The purpose of the census is to update and make available a general database of the population and housing. This data is intended to help the Executive in planning, managing and making decisions on public policies.
The monitoring will be similar to that of electoral processes, with teams in various locations - such as the Presidential Palace - and in the residences of holders of sovereign bodies, political and religious entities, among others in society, says Angop.
This is the second census to which the country has been subjected in the space of 10 years, after the 2014 Census, which recorded the existence of more than 25 million inhabitants in Angola.
