According to a statement from the Cardeal Dom Alexandre do Nascimento Hospital Complex, to which VerAngola had access, the aforementioned robot was tested this Tuesday by Doctor Petel, "as part of the second phase of robotic surgeries underway in the Central Block of the CHDCP", with the test being "attended by the general director, Carlos Alberto Masseca, accompanied by other officials".
This robot will play "a crucial role in the training of health professionals, by enabling the continuous training and qualification of doctors and nurses", in an initiative that aims to "raise the level of proficiency in robotic surgeries, expanding the use of minimally invasive techniques in Angola".
"The installation of this second robot at the CHDCP represents a significant advance in the country's health system, consolidating the hospital complex as a reference center for robotic surgeries", reads the statement.
This equipment "was designed to simulate complex procedures, offering healthcare professionals the opportunity to gain practical experience before performing real surgeries".
The arrival of this new robot reinforces the Ministry of Health's "ongoing commitment" to "modernising the healthcare system, in partnership with international institutions", the note also states.
