The head of state also authorized the construction of a new Lot 1 building at Prenda, informs the Government of the Province of Luanda (GPL), in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
The decision, expressed in Presidential Order No. 255/23, of October 25, is justified by the "state of advanced degradation", aiming to preserve "good life and guarantee decent living conditions".
"Due to the state of advanced degradation, and with a view to preserving good life and ensuring decent living conditions, the President of the Republic, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, authorized the demolition of four buildings in the province of Luanda, including the Lot 1 of the Prenda buildings, having also authorized the construction of a new Lot 1 Prenda building", reads the statement.
It is worth remembering that in August this year, the Municipal Administration of Luanda had already announced the demolition of the Prenda Lot 1 building.
At the time, the municipal administration reported that the technical opinion on the inspections carried out by the Angola Engineering Laboratory concluded that there are no "habitability conditions", given the high level of "risk due to structural instability and insecurity".
Remember that the aforementioned building was evacuated in April of this year.
Later this year, the country saw a building collapse in the center of Luanda. The situation happened in March, when a six-story building collapsed, with no casualties reported.
