Luanda Municipal Administration has housing for families in Lot 1 of Prenda

The Municipal Administration of Luanda presented an emergency solution and appealed to the common sense of the residents of Lot 1 of the Prenda Buildings – who, due to the fact that the building was at risk of collapsing, had to vacate it.

"This is the possible solution found by the Municipal Administration of Luanda, as it stems from the emergency context of the untimely vacancy of the building, but which will solve the discomfort of families who are staying with relatives while waiting for the final result of the technical evaluation", explains the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL), in a statement made available to VerAngola.

The solution thus involves providing housing for the families in question. Thus, according to Angop, a total of 41 rooms are available to host families.

The assistant administrator of the municipality of Luanda for the political and social area, Alcrézia Cavala, asserted that the houses exist – without specifying where –, as well as the existence of dialogue with the families, whose delivery date depends on them.

According to the official, quoted by Angop, this is a one-off resolution, as there is still no decisive resolution regarding the situation of the building.

"We still don't know what solution has been adopted for the building on Lot 1 of Prenda, while we are creating that solution", added Alcrézia Cavala, quoted by Angop.

The GPL, in a statement, also points out that "this situation derives from the emergency situation caused by the state of accelerated degradation and intense corrosion of the reinforcements, which compromise the stability of the building".

Remember that the evacuation of the building took place on the 22nd of April.

Also in March of this year, a six-story building collapsed in the center of the capital, with no reports of victims.
