GPL terminates contract with two garbage collection operators

The Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) proceeded with the termination of the contract with two garbage collection operators for breach of contract. At issue are the companies Multilimpeza Lda and Jump Business Lda, which were in charge of cleaning the municipalities of Cacuaco and Belas.

:

"These are the operators Jump Business Lda and Multilimpeza Lda, which are two companies that were respectively working in the municipalities of Belas and Cacuaco," began to inform Esteves Hilário, director of the GPL's legal office.

Speaking to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), the official explained that the GPL's technical teams carried out "a thorough analysis of all cleaning and solid waste collection operators in the province of Luanda", and it was "clear that in most of them have numerous technical and service provision deficiencies."

However, for the two companies in question, it was found that "there is no room for progression, that is, they have not shown any technical capacity to progress in improving the services they have provided", he added.

"Given that a critical period of rain is approaching, according to what meteorologists tell us, the GPL saw fit to immediately terminate the contracts it has with these companies so that there is no further damage to the public health of Luanda residents", justified Esteves Hilário.

Regarding the possible increase in the amount of solid waste in the capital, the official explained that this will not be verified: "It won't happen because it was taken care of."

He clarified that the follow-up work has been going on for a few months and that there was a "technical support work for Elisal", leaving her equipped to "remove this deficiency".
