Government extends deadline for proposals for privatization of 16 industrial units

IGAPE announced last Friday the extension, until the 25th, of the deadline for the submission of proposals in the public tender for the privatization of 16 industrial units located in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE).

In a note sent to Lusa, the State Asset Management and Participation Institute (IGAPE) said that this public tender, for the third phase of the privatization of industrial units in the ZEE, ends now on October 25, on the "first working day immediately after" to the date stipulated so far, 23 October.

The 16 industrial units to be privatized in this phase are AngolaCabos (Industry of Optical Fiber Cables), Angtor (Industry of Faucets), Infer (Industry of Handles, Hinges, Locks and Cylinders), Indugalv (Chrome, Nickel-plating and Zinc-plating), Bombagua (Water Pumps for Irrigation), Induplastic (Plastic Sanitary/Domestic Products Industry).

Indumassas (Industry of Food Pasta), Ninhoflex (Industry of Foam Mattresses, Springs and Pillows), Indupame (Industry of Industrial Ships in Metallic Structure), BTMT (Industry of Electrical Panels), Concrete (Industry of Prefabricated Products, Pre-Stressed and Concrete Artifacts), Inducabos (Industry of Low and Medium Voltage Electric Cables) will also be privatized.

Also on the list of industrial units in the ZEE to be privatized are the companies MateEletrica (Industry of Switches, Plugs, Switchgear and Switchgear Boxes), Indulouças (Industry of Conventional Sanitary), Inductors (Industry of Pipes and Accessories) and Fundinar (Metal Alloy Casting).

The privatization of these industrial units "will be through a public tender in the form of asset disposal", says IGAPE.

"The bidders may deliver their proposals at the premises of IGAPE or by email propriv.zee@igape.co.ao with acknowledgment of receipt", according to the statement.

On October 26, the Negotiation Committee for the Privatization of Industrial Units will carry out a "public act of virtual opening of the same".

In presidential order No. 92/21 of 11 June, the President, João Lourenço, authorized the privatization of the aforementioned industrial units and delegated powers to the Minister of Finance with the faculty of sub-delegating, for the approval of the documents of the tender procedure, the creation of the evaluation committee and verification of the validity and legality of all acts of the public tender.

The Government's Privatization Program (ProPriv) foresees the privatization of more than 190 companies and/or Angolan State assets by 2022 in the sectors of banking, hotels and tourism, finance, insurance, agriculture, telecommunications, industries, oil, among others.
