Secil Marítima with revenues of around 170 million kwanzas

The sale of tickets on the route that connects Luanda, Soyo and Cabinda has earned Secil Marítima a cash inflow of around 170 million kwanzas, since it started its services in April this year.

:

During April and July of this year, 5,870 passengers traveled with the company, representing an average of 110 people on each trip, which, after all, resulted in revenues of around 170 million kwanzas, writes Angop.

According to Silvano Araújo, coordinator of Secil Marítima's operations, in a statement to ANGOP, the amounts in question reflect general revenue from the Luanda-Cabinda-Luanda and Cabinda-Soyo-Cabinda routes, with a ticket costing 20.000 kwanzas.

In the first three months in operation, he added, the company benefited from a moratorium that exempted it from paying port fees, but as of last month the company has already started to pay these fees, with implications for operating costs, writes Angop.

It is recalled that the services started in April on the route that linked Cabinda to Soyo. In the beginning, he made two trips, but that number was increased to three frequencies per week, namely on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. In turn, the Luanda-Cabinda-Luanda route only started operating in July (it makes two trips a week).

Regarding new routes, the official, quoted by Angop, informed that last Friday, September 9, the daily trip between Kapossoca and Mussulo was resumed, in a boat capable of carrying 26 people.

On weekdays, tickets for this trip are worth 500 kwanzas and on weekends and holidays they go up to 1500 kwanzas, writes Angop.

Speaking to Angop, the coordinator also considered that the company is capable of operating "all over Angola's coast, provided that, for this, there are technical operational conditions in the ports of similar locations".
