Reiterating Portugal's commitment to continuing its collaboration with Angola in the infrastructure sector, the Portuguese diplomat also stated that Portugal is committed to fostering professional training opportunities for Angolans, especially young people working in construction companies.

In this regard, the ambassador, quoted by Angop, revealed that 1200 companies currently operate in Angola, primarily in the construction sector, some of which collaborate with Angolan businesspeople, creating approximately 100,000 jobs.

In addition to the infrastructure sector, Portugal also wants to cooperate in the cultural sector. To this end, according to the Portuguese ambassador to Angola, his country will cooperate with Angola to inscribe the Kwanza River Corridor as a World Heritage Site, due to its historical impact.

According to the Portuguese diplomat, the Kwanza Corridor is like a "veritable highway to the interior of Angola."

According to Angop, this corridor served, during the colonial era, for trade between the central and northern regions of Angola and the world, especially Europe and the Americas.

On the occasion, João Diogo Gaspar, governor of Cuanza Norte, expressed his team's willingness to work with UNESCO authorities, with the support of Portugal, to ensure that Massangano's infrastructure is included on the World Heritage list, writes Angop.

The Portuguese ambassador's visit to the province took place on Tuesday and was part of the "strengthening of historical and cultural cooperation relations between Angola and Portugal, at a time marked by the approaching celebrations of the 50th anniversary of national independence."
