Open to the public until 26 July, this exhibition "dedicated to the master of Spanish surrealism, Salvador Dalí", is made up of 11 engravings.

"Under the title 'A Conquista do Cosmos', the exhibition brings together a complete series of 11 original engravings, produced in 1974, that is, 50 years ago, all signed and numbered in pencil by the artist himself, in a limited edition of only 195 copies. This is the first time that this specific collection is exhibited in Angola", says a statement sent to VerAngola.

"With the support of ENSA – Seguros de Angola, the Spanish Embassy in Angola, and FUNIBER, together with the International University of Cuanza (UNIC) and the European University of the Atlantic, this unprecedented exhibition is being promoted, which invites the Angolan public" to interact directly with the universe of this artist.

"The Salvador Dalí exhibition offers the Angolan public a rare opportunity for direct contact with the provocative universe of this great visual artist, master of surrealism and an essential figure in 20th century art, widely recognised for his vibrant imagination and unique aesthetics", the statement reads.

This initiative is more than just an art exhibition, it is also a "milestone in the cultural exchange between Angola and Spain".

"More than just an art exhibition, this initiative represents a milestone in the cultural exchange between Angola and Spain and reinforces the joint commitment of FUNIBER, the Spanish Embassy in Angola and ENSA to promoting art, culture and bringing people together through artistic creation, and which have already brought to Angola in the past collections of other world-class Spanish artists such as Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso", the statement also states.

Furthermore, the note adds, the exhibition, open to the public, "promises to be one of the most significant cultural events of the year, valuing access to international art and promoting dialogue between cultures in a space for sharing between the European artistic legacy and the richness of the Angolan cultural panorama".
