Government invested 450 billion kwanzas in three years of the municipalities' integrated plan

O Governo anunciou que cerca de 450 mil milhões de kwanzas foram já gastos com a implementação, há três anos, dos projectos da carteira do Plano Integrado de Intervenção nos Municípios (PIIM).

According to the Secretary of State for Local Authorities, Márcio Daniel, of the 2,710 projects registered in the PIIM, around 2,040 are being carried out in the 18 provinces with the respective budget guaranteed.

The official, who was speaking on the occasion of the 4th ordinary meeting of the Interministerial Commission for the Implementation of the PIIM, also informed that by the end of this year 80 percent of the PIIM projects will be completed.

"Out of a total of 1749 projects, by the end of the year we will have completed 1405 projects, which means that 80 percent of the initial PIIM portfolio will be completed by the end of the year, which makes our balance sheet positive in relation to to the total number of projects that initially made up the portfolio", he said.

The national dimension plan includes projects in the sectors of education, health, secondary and tertiary roads, public security and public order, agriculture, administrative infrastructure, basic sanitation, water, energy, among others.

The PIIM, launched in June 2019 by President João Lourenço, is budgeted at US$2 billion, resources from the Sovereign Fund of Angola, with the authorities guaranteeing that it is being carried out "without the use of public debt". .

The meeting of the Interministerial Commission for the Implementation of the PIIM, chaired by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, took stock of the ongoing projects and their degree of physical and financial execution.
