According to a statement from the FAF, to which Lusa had access this Tuesday, the draw for the next Girabola will take place at the headquarters of the body that manages Angolan football in Luanda, with the period reserved for registration to be from 1 July to 10 August.
The official communiqué no. 19/SG/2020, signed by the Secretary General of the FAF, Fernando Rui Costa, states that from 13 to 31 July will be the period reserved for field inspections.
The clubs unanimously decided, on 30 April, to cancel the Girabola, interrupted in March due to the covid-19 pandemic, mainly to "safeguard health and the heavy expenditure on athletes whose contracts expired in May".
The decision of the clubs that militate in Girabola was presented during a meeting with the Angolan Football Federation that analysed the competition's break after the 25th round.
The Angolan football championship, then led by Petro de Luanda, with 54 points, three less than the 1st of August, four-time champion in second place, was suspended in March following the decree on the state of emergency.
For the 2020/21 season, 16 teams are already confirmed in the race.
Among the various administrative procedures for the next 2020-2021 sports season and club licensing regulations, the FAF requires an insurance policy for the football field/stadium, report and accounts approved by an authorized audit, among others.
Clubs must also submit a financial statement with a bank guarantee of at least 100,000,000 kwanzas before the start of the season.
Petro de Luanda and 1 August were nominated to represent Angola in the African Football Champions League, while Sagrada Esperança and Bravos do Maquis in the Confederation Cup.
